Route Climbed: normal E side then SE ridge Date Climbed: aug. 1985
Started from Les Etages around 3 AM...nearly 2000m. difference of level ! Nice weather, but as you get beneath col de Burlan and attacking the final pyramide, the rock gets worse. And once you get at the very foot of the E facet, as you have to reach a little gap on your left in order to climb up the S face, things are becoming delicate : everything seems to be crumbling around. Be careful. During a normal summer, don't carry any snow/ice gear, that would be useless.
