Route Climbed: Iowa Gulch via West Ridge of Sheridan Date Climbed: October 8, 2005
I climbed the west ridge of sheridan from Iowa Gulch and followed Sheridan with Peerless, Horseshoe, Sherman, and Gemini. Got tired below the summit of Dyer and descended. Wonderful day.
Route Climbed: Southeast Slope Date Climbed: May 26, 2005
I parked at the road closure and climbed the slopes above the Dauntless Mine and then skinned to the base of the SE slope. I packed my skis to the end of the snow, tagged the summit, and enjoyed a nice ski to the car. Windy day.
Route Climbed: North Ridge Date Climbed: July 23, 1983
After summitting Sherman w/ a group from the CMC, we continued south from the saddle to climb Sheridan as well. The descent down the NE slopes took us back to our vehicles at Leavick.
Route Climbed: East Face Date Climbed: October 31, 2004
Although it was windy and cold, the day turned out to be a great day for some time in the high country. Made the hike under clear skies with my wife and found very little snow above treeline.
Route Climbed: Fourmile Creek Date Climbed: July 16, 2004
The weather still looked good, so I decided to climb Sheridan on the return from Sherman and Gemini. This was the toughest of the three peaks, thanks to the steep slope and loose talus. I got off the mountain just in time, for a storm was rolling in as I headed back to the trailhead. Then I drove back to Denver through one hell of a storm, with torrential rain and lightning striking all over South Park.
Route Climbed: Iowa Gulch/ Northeast Slope Date Climbed: June 9, 2004
This mountain was my first high peak in Colorado so it has a lot of significance for me. We were going to do Mt. Sherman but the weather looked a little "ify" as we got on the saddle. I then mentioned ascending Sheridan instead to my climbing buddies and we all agreed. We had the summit to ourselves and the views were amazing. I'll definately be heading back to do Sheridan again and a lot of other peaks in the area! Wonderful mountain!
Route Climbed: from Horseshoe Mtn Date Climbed: May 31, 2002
A nice summit, much more character than nearby Sherman. I took a delicious half hour nap on top! What a day. Headed over to Sherman and White Ridge afterwards
Started at the Little Sacramento Th and ascended Gemini's huge, broad, grassy east ridge to the summit of Gemini. Descended and hiked .7 miles over Sherman's huge grassy north ridge to the summit. Descended and hiked .5 mile on talus to Mt. Sheridan. On the way back skirted Gemini's summit to the west and hiked Dyer Peak(another centennial 13er). Watch out for the power lines! Descended straight down into Sacramento Creek Drainage and back to the car. A long day. Only people I saw were hiking Sherman, otherwise I think I went 9 hours with meeting another soal. Those grassy broad ridges are really cool places to visit.
