Went up the west ridge line. Been dreading climbing this for awhile, and really happy it's done! Pretty hard but incredibly rewarding!

Hennen Canyon
Went up a scree chute on the N.end of the Dome and down the S. Ridge. Since it was so close I climbed Ruby Pyramid also.

via Ruby Pyramid - Ruby Dome Saddle
Part of climbing Ruby Pyramid, Ruby Dome and Lee Peak on a fine summer day, but there was a bit of haze from Nevada wild fires.

Smoky
All of Northern Nevada was on fire pretty much, so we did this mountain in less than ideal conditions. Climbed with adjacent Ruby Pyramid.

great mountain
very fun climb in the most scenic Nevada mountain range. I ended up going up the west ridge which involved a little route finding and some minor scrambling. Not much snow left. Very little loose rock to deal with.

Lee peak, Ruby Dome and Ruby Pyramid
Nice traverse. Lee Peak was a bit sketchy, but we avoided most of the snow/ice and Lee was a good bonus peak. Trip Report

Echo Lake
Followed a long, convoluted route via Lamoille Lake, Box Canyon, Echo Lake, and Echo Canyon, approaching the summit itself from the south. Difficult, but lots of fun.

Via the west ridge, with Ali H and Alan N. Good to get past the cow flops at 8900'. Trip report with pics: Ruby Dome .
Cairns are a little sporadic beyond 10100'. The DPS description is pretty good.

Hennen Canyon, East Ridge
Climbed it with Surgent of Phoenix on a fine Sunday morning. We also met up with a couple of cool locals from Elko, Kevin and Sunshine. We didn't see an obvious route up the north rib, so we angled up towards the east saddle of the dome. At that point, we climbed the skinny ridge up and over a bump and onto the summit by 1:05PM. It was very fun climbing!

Very nice climb. We did not see anyone the entire trip. Lot's of snow and a nice camping site at Griswold Lake. Highly Recommended!

This is certainly one of the best climbs in the state and I would dare to say in the country. Very remote and rarely visited but has some of the most amazing scenery and climbing challenges. An excellent way to spend two days and a great way to gain crampon experience.

Great hike with a great partner Dean. This is an all day long hike in great weather. With nearly 5,000ft EG from the top of the private campground, you need to be in shape for this one. The Ruby Mountains are beautiful and I will be back.

This is a truly impressive area. We hit one of those great autumn days when it was shirt sleeve weather and no wind on the summit. Wowser.
This peak has a little of everything but perhaps the best it has to offer is the views. It reminded me a bit of the Sierras, lots of granite and the recent snowfall gave it a more alpine feeling.
This was the 4th peak in 4 days for Dennis Poulin and myself and this was the highlight of the first 4.
Route Climbed: Hennen Canyon Date Climbed: May-2004
Got a bug to drive too the Rubies and hit the peak. Around seven hours round trip, 5 hours to the peak and 2 hours back out. Had the trail and peak to myself couldn't have had a better day.
