Click here for the full-size (1.5mb) annotated 360 degree panorama taken from the summit of Matterhorn Peak. If you recognize any peaks that I could not or notice any errors, please drop me an email (see my profile for address). Thanks!! - October 25, 2003

nice pano

misha, another good one. i think the thing you label cathedral is really tressider. cathedral is on the other (viewer's left) side of that u shaped valley (in which sits lower cath. lake). if you look just left of what you labeled "cathedral", you will see the distinctive pointy peaks of the budd lake drainage. the first pointy one is cathedral, then echo peaks, echo ridge, and the very pointy cockscomb.

Re: nice pano

Thanks Rich. You are of course correct. I got confused by pointy peaks (Echo Peaks) and did not notice Cathedral among them. I need to get better at identifying these since I spent at least 4-5 weekends in the area this summer :). Will post corrections tonight.

Wow

Perfect panorama, do you have more pictures of Slide Mountain?

Re: Wow

Thanks! Unfortunately I don't have more shots of Slide Mountain. Haven't visited that area yet. Looks trippy, eh? If you liked this pano, you'd love this one taken from the summit of Middle Palisade. It is my best to date. Thanks again for stopping by and sharing your feedback!
