Shrouded in mystery, and home to a number of lost gold mines, the Superstition Mountains rise up from the desert floor only 35 miles east of Phoenix, Arizona. Once known as the Salt River Mountains, the rugged Superstition range contains some of the most forbidding country in North America. Here's a few "unnamed" dacite pinnacles found on the northwest side of Superstition Mountain .. as the sun strikes them at daybreak. April 8, 2010

Great rocks...

Larry... the Zeppelin would love this sight too... Lucky you in the states with such a space and a variety of summits!

Thanks - actually, the wide open spaces can
spark a sense of utter loneliness in a person, but that's not necessarily bad.
