Airplane? I'm not aware of a higher peak in the immediate east of Mt. Tom. Or is this a telephoto zoom from White Mtns?

That has to be from an airplane or other airborne object!

Yes, this photo was taken from my airplane, at approximately 15,000'. ScottyS was the photographer, we took about 250 aerials of the Sierra on this day.
