-->ND: This is where the trail now deviates from the current map. The view on the left side of the picture is where the trail used to go, but now this has been abandoned. The Trail Road trailhead is in that direction and could still be used for access to the NCT - it is just beyond the gate in the distance. (The Bird Lake Road trailhead is also further on in that direction.)
The NCT now turns to the right and is well blazed.
