| Instead of the customary 4-day 'suffering' that we love to put ourselves through in the winter along the Donovaly-Certovica ridge, we were greeted by fantastic conditions. Neither crampons nor snowshoes were really necessary this time. | |

| From Trangoška with via Štefánik hut and back on the same route. Despite the incoming warm front that brought gentle snowfall from time to time, occasional cloud clearings gave dramatic and spectacular sights. | |

| Family trip from saddle Certovica to chalet Milana Rastislava Stefanika, where we spent the night and to Dumbier and Chopok the next day. Both days storms came, but we escaped both storms - we spent one in the chalet and second occured after our descent to Demanovska valley. | |

| Got off the bus at Lucky in the Demanovska Dolina (Valley), went up the quiet Siroka Dolina to meet the crowds on the main ridge. Fog around the summit. Back to Krupova Hola and off the main ridge to be blessed with peace and quiet again. Sat down and ate, then continued along the side ridge to Javorie Pass, then descended to the village of Liptovsky Jan along the Bystra and Stiavnica streams. | |

| After a great night spent all alone in the quite spacious Stefanika hut we reached Dumbier in rain and fog. An easy hike, not too impressive though in my oppinion. A complete ridge walk must be something else... | |

| I started ascent from the Ördöglakodalma-hágó (sorry, I don't know by heart its Slovakian name), going up along the ridge of the mountain reaching the peak from east. I was on the peak when a thunderstorm started, with lightnings around everywhere. Quickly down to south into the valley, and getting back to the car on the main road. 100% vet. After it I drove back to Budapest, having the heating in the car on maximum, sitting there in a single vet underpants... And didn't get cold | |
