40 meters of Californias Southernmost Nice Ice
Whitney Icefall. Feb. 18th, 2007 We went to do the MR and bailed due to shitty snow conditions and a system moving in (mainly snow conditions). We had drug up all the ice gear as a back up plan so we decided to put it to good use and climbed the Whitney icefall for a couple hours before calling the trip.

Why wait? This ice often stays in until May. We will be up there again in a few weeks.

Very simple - 9 hour drive for 40 meters of low-angle ice :)

Oh yeah, I forgot about that. There are some sections that are close to vertical but not enough to justify that drive.
