6/9/05: Looking up at Castle...

6/9/05: Looking up at Castle Peak during the approach through Montezuma Basin. The huge buttress (upper center) is the beginning of the NE Ridge. I climbed the snow-covered slopes just behind this buttress to gain the ridge. Crampons and ice axe a must in the hard snow, especially in early morning.
