700m high south face of...
700m high south face of Parrot Spitze (4436m) observed from Piramide Vincent (4215m). Below is upper most part of Piode glacier. By the left edge of the photo is Ludwigshohe (4342m) while the upper part of Zumstein Spitze (4563m) is peering between them.



In just that relatively short time spent on the summit of Piramide Vincent I saw several amazing rock falls thundering down the face. You can see how glacier is covered with rock by the edge of the face. If anyone climbed the face that exceptionally hot summer of 2003 it must have been kamikazes. August 2003.
