8-7-06 Evolution Lake
Evolution Lake is a wonderful alpine lake that runs down to the Evolution Valley. I was overtaken by the wonder and beauty of this area!

Wow, It's hard to believe I was there a year ago. Seeing this picture brought a flood of great memories. How was Muir Pass? When I was up there there was still a ton of snow.

Thank you. We actually came from the west and only got this far before we had to return. We came over hell-for-sure pass and returned via florence Lake. I desperately want to see more...

Florence Lake is a beautiful lake too. Thats where I got off the JMT. I could spend a week in the Evolution area. But another great place is LeConte Canyon.

is probably my favourite place in the Sierras after Yosemite Valley. And this photo brings back so many memories for me as well. I've been here 12 times, including a 3 week base camp just behind the spot from which you took your photo. Thanks!
