A close up of a beautiful flower at Great Basin National Park. The small hearts and star shape only enhance the beauty of this one. If anyone knows the name of this type of flower I would love hear what kind it is. Picture taken May 2010

Was it growing high off the ground?

I can tell you what it's NOT. It's not a yellow aster or cutleaf balsumroot.

I'm stumped! Was it growing at the base of
JD Peak?

Actually I found this flower along the trail that leads to the worst attraction that GBNP has to offer......The Osceola Ditch. It was kinda high off of the ground (2-4 inches). If I had to give this flower a name I would call it a star heart, due to the overall shape of a star with the hearts inside. Happy Trails Larry
