A burnt forest

A burnt forest
About three miles into the hike, strong evidence of the severity of a fire that razed the area a couple years back is everywhere. Chiricahua Peak itself was not spared the wrath of the fire as a good portion including the top of the peak was badly burned. It is a 12 mile round trip hike to hike from just below the Rustler Park campground but the hike is still a nice one, despite the fire. I can only imagine how neat the hike was prior to the fire.
