A close call with a deep crevasse

A close call with a deep crevasse
Jason punched through a snowbridge on the Boston Glacier, and managed to stop his fall into the deep crevasse by stemming his ski across. We were roped up, but it was far more convenient for all of us that he was able to stop himself. It was a rather deep crevasse that pinched off as it got deeper.

This photo is from my trip report for an early-spring climb and ski descent of the North Face of Buckner.
