A close up of Chimney Rock...
A close up of Chimney Rock (7,727 ft)--the exciting alpine culmination of the Chimney Group--from the south. Photo taken July 9, 2000 from the Southeast Shoulder of Three Queens. Chimney Rock is one of the more difficult summits to attain in the Cascades (9 pitches of class 5). There has been at least one fatality on this peak and a friend of mine was seriously injured in June on Pitch 6.
