A close-up on the summit of...
A close-up on the summit of Dychtau. These last couple of hundred vertical meters is the last obstacle in the quest of reaching the summit.
Ice falls, corniches and seracs stops you from going straight up. The first ascent on this side of the mountain was made by Abalakov. He traversed to the right and climbed the rock instead of trying the suicidal direct approach.
