Best shot of Gendarme!

...I have ever seen!!! This is a great pic showing the steepness of the 2nd pitch. How was the climb Martin?

Re: Best shot of Gendarme!

Thanks Radek! The climb was fantastic, the knife edged ridge is just super fun to climb, and the rock is solid and exposed. I climbed really bad screwing up the lower start and flailing on the Gendarme (tired and altitude). Still had a great time though, finished the route.

I didn't see you guys up there on Sunday, I hope you had a nice holiday weekend wherever you ended up at.

Cheers,

Martin

Re: Best shot of Gendarme!

Hey Martin,

congrat's on the great climbing last weekend! I have yet to go thru. all your photos. Yeah, it ended up not happening for us last weekend. Hiked in on Sat. to camp. Conditions were pretty marginal (cold/windy/summit socked in). Figured we'll call it at 11pm or so before heading out of the tent. Was still pretty miserable at night. Decided not to go for it. Woke up on Sun. to perfect conditions. Cursed our decision!! Oh well - hoping to go back there in a few weeks.

Not sure if you've done so or not, but last I checked the existing SP write up for the N. Ridge was pretty marginal at best. You might want to submit your route write up?

Nice climbing up there sir!!

Should've looked before I spoke - the route page is quite detailed and very good now. My apologies!

Re: Best shot of Gendarme!

The page is good. It would be perfect with a pitch by pitch description of the lower start and gendrame pitches. The rest of it doesn't need anything. You can belay anywhere or simulclimb.

Finally finished my Trip Report if you want to check it out.

Have a good weekend,

Martin

Re: Best shot of Gendarme!

Good stuff Martin.

Like the large format photos (esp. the ones of the Gendarme).
