A Fine Trio Under a Threatening Sky
From left to right: Wetterhorn, Matterhorn and Uncompahgre Peak. Although Wetterhorn looks much lower than Uncompahgre from this perspective (and actually is a few hundred feet lower), both are 14ers and among the highest 100 peaks in the country outside Alaska. Uncompahgre is the highest in the San Juan Mountains.

This view is from Windy Point, a roadside spot south of Lake City along CO 149.

I'm glad when I was actually on two of those peaks the sky didn't look like that!
