A hiker pauses in an obliterated section of the Silver Lake trail. These two gullies were formed IN TWO WEEKS TIME during a heavy San Juan monsoon of 1983. The torrent of water and debris came from the steep slopes and cliffs of Little Giant's north ridge in the background. Be alert for rockfall.
