A mid-range shot of Whale Dome (center) from the approach road to trailhead. Standard hike-in approach follows the wash on the right of the Dome. Moby Dick route follows a minor-looking "seam" seen low on the formation. Standard descent from summit involves a double rope rappel off of the left (overhanging) side (January 1, 2005).
