A mixed herd on the road from Maca
A mixed herd on the road from Maca
Close to civilization again at the end of my hike, I encountered this mixed herd of cattle heading out to pasture. The locals at Maca, Peru, were very friendly, as well as a bit curious about me. No surprise I guess, because the highlands south of Rio Colca are a barren place. So what's a lone hiker doing here, coming from that direction in the morning?
