A new friend on Brown's Peak

While descending the rock slide below the chute on August 20, 2006, I stepped down just 2 feet in front of this beautiful 4-foot Arizona Black Rattler. He gave me a little hiss, but since he gave me the option of backing up instead of striking, I figured we were friends from then on.
