A typical section of the...

A typical section of the limestone rock of the Matterhorn. It has probably been sculpted not by wind and rain here but by wave and water action when it was once a sea floor. The rock is so crumbly you can literally knock off chunks from overhangs with a swift boot stomp. Cool stuff and I've seen nothing like it anyplace else. Photo taken August 20, 1998.
