A windsock, used to aid helicopters that service the antenna facilities that adorn this peak, is extended to full function by the 50 mph wind present this day. The Spring Mountains and Charleston Peak are to the west.

That's one windy peak...

When I was there, I dealt with 50+ mph winds also. In the short time that I was on the summit, the winds actually ripped the wind sock off and blew it down the mountain!

By the way, that's Willow Peak directly underneath the wind sock.
