I don't know if I would've undertaken a technical traverse as commiting as this one in the Colorado Rockies with clouds like that! Kudos for the daring to do this under the given conditions! When was this photo taken/route done (I always like to post that, so people might get an idea of the typical conditions of an area for that time period)?

It was sketchy, but I think I was quite naive at the time. Little Bear was my first CO 14er back on July 4, 1999. It was a typical monsoonal pattern that year. Most if not all of the traverse was done in a shroud of clouds. I think my decision boiled down to 1) do the traverse or 2) descend the Class 4 (wet) hourglass. The traverse sounded better on that particular day.
