to avoid a snow climb. This is the gully above the Lavender Col, before the notch. The gully was still mostly snowed in Mid-July, 2009. There is a climber's trail that takes you up the left face of the gully to gain what is essential the SE ridge, which takes you to the summit. I missed the trail and had to ascend unnecessarily steep terrain here.
