On the road

Illimani, here we come!

Early in the morning, I got picked up in La Paz, for a few hours driving towards Illimani. I hadn't really thought about the drive and certainly did not expect the scenery that was about to unfold.

It started as expected, with improving views of the mountain.

Palca Canyon

Suddenly, we found ourselves in Palca Canyon. Beautiful hiking country! For good measure, I have to add that my guide said that these parts were not entirely safe, so perhaps being on foot is not such a good idea after all. But if conditions change, this is one more great attraction to visit.

And even beyond

Oh yeah, it sure is. Imagine, its early morning, you're driving along and then you hit upon something like this.
