Backpacked to a camp at the lake, then continued on to the summit of Adams with bad weather threatening. The scrambling on the ridge itself was fun and easy, and didn't see anyone the entire time!

Not the greatest weather, but no thunder. No views from the top due to the dense clouds, but a fun climb nonetheless.

Erin and I undertook a long loop hike. We hiked up Willow Creek, summitted Montana Mujeres (UN 13,546), Mount Adams, and UN 13,153 before descending South Crestone Creek back to the same trailhead.

Nice Mountain. If you stay on the ridge you will encounter some minor Crestone Conglomerate tiptoeing. My dog made it to just below the blocky summit cap.

This was my second ascent of this wonderful peak. Picture book alpine meadows, steep but climbable grassy slopes, and a large herd of bighorn sheep that literally thundered past us made this an even more unforgetable day than the day prior on Challenger and Kit Carson. Avoid the east side, but climb up the summit cap from the relatively easy ridge from the south. The summit register was empty- no matter. Do this peak before it is "discovered". It is fortunate that it is not a 14er because if it was it would be overused. The view of the Sangres from the top is what mountains are made of. Obviously, I love this peak.

Fun climb, a little dicey with fresh snow on the upper ridge!

Paul and I were turned back a few days before due to heavy blowing snow, but the following attempt made for a great, steady, non-stop 18 mile all-day hike. It was a bit windy on the summit.
