Adder - Common Viper
This seriously surprised me but on a week away in Scotland on 29/8/2008 a short walk along a rocky road side verge had an Adder basking in the rocks. I live in the warmer counties of the UK as in Kent in the far south and even though Adders are meant to be common round my local countryside I had never yet seen one in our fields or verges...!
