Watch out for them afternoon thunderstorms! During summer, as you ascend from Baldy Town (Philmont), you should encounter other crews coming down (unless you're early, when it shouldn't matter). Ask what weather they saw to the west (since your view is blocked by the mountain). Take their advice and don't ascend if bad weather is inbound. Imaged at Philmont Scout Ranch, NM in June 2005.
