Ahead is one of the towers on the West Ridge Route

As you can see, the rock is not vertical, and the rock is somewhat stable.

Did this route with my brother and is a route I will NEVER forget!!! I am east coast and he is die hard west coast. He did this route like a mountain goat and I did this route wondering what am I doing up here. The West route does have you exposed in spots. My one question is this?? We got hit with a major lightning storm on the summit. There is no way I want to be heading down the west route with lightning striking all around me. I was in full panick mode and just jumped off the summit heading straight towards the dam at full speed. Is this a trail that is often used or was I on just a huge scree field that wasn't even a trail at all?? I went straight from the summit directly to the car and parking lot at the dam. I thought I was dead for sure. What is best way off Quandry in a lightning storm. There were 3 of us and all 3 of us took different ways down. Oh what a day to remember.
