Hasn't voted | Hopefully we were not in those walls Tim. We wanted to reach the Gîte a Balmat (2530 m), a granite block under which Jacques Balmat and Dr. Paccard set up their bivouac on the first ever ascent of Mont Blanc in 1786. It was rainy almost all the time and we turned back into the fog just below Bec du Corbeau (2221 m).
