| Fantastic route and summit with an intersting, but long, walk down to Montenvers. Little snow cover so crevasses were easy to spot. | ||

| Very nice traverse, with sometimes great exposure. We also climbed back (Plan-Midi) wich offers some interesting climbing where you abseil on the way in. | ||

| We had planned to do the full traverse of the Aiguilles but decided to return from Aiguille du Plan when we realized how slow we were. Great mixed climb, there are many options for harder and more interesting ways to climb the rock sections on the Rognon and on the final summit. | ||

| Classic and nice rigde. Snow parts of route like from postcards. Easy mixed climbing in places. Ugly fixed ropes on the last craig traverse. Depending on variant which you choose, there might be an intresting 2 pitches rock climb on the summit block. To enjoy this ridge most, you should try to be first (or last one - warning on snow softed by sun) on the route. Unfortunately quite cloudy day. Becouse of poor snow and glacier conditions (august...) we didn't decide go down to requin hut, but have done ridge again to Aiguille du Midi. | ||

| We decended via the refuge de requins which made a very long day of it. Do not under estimate this route ! | ||

| Climbed with Philippe Gerschel after taking the first cable car at 6AM from Chamonix. We got caught behind some slow parties at the rappels, which cost us some time. The summit was quite nice - very flat on the top. We returned to the Aig du Midi by the same route, which was time consuming. Snow conditions were pretty poor, especially on the return. | ||

| A nice route on its own and used quite a bit, as I used it , to get to many climbs. From 1976 through 1978 I climbed part or all of this route at least 8 times as I remember. | ||

| One of the best routes I have done over about 6 visits to various parts of the Alps. We did this in a storm and saw nothing all day apart from 1 hour of sun on the rognon du plan. This turned all the snow to slush and we had an interesting time reversing the traverse in a proper whiteout. We turned round after the abseils of the rognon du plan as the fresh snow was avalanching in the sun, 2 italians went for a ride but were ok. I'll say it again, a fabulous route | ||

| climbed the 'Aiguille du Plan' via the Midi-Plan-traverse, and I must say it's a very fine route for a novice to explore the edges off the Mont-Blanc massif, and have an excellent view over the Vallée Blanche !!! Superb Traverse !!! | ||

| Chamonix Man | Route Climbed: Midi - plan traverse Date Climbed: August 2001 ![]() | |
| I climbed this route the day after doing the cosmiques, and the day before the dent du geant. We were the first people on the route over new snow that day. Some quite exposed bits - particularly the traverse over a steep snow field half way along. | ||

| Due to bad snow conditions my guide, my wife and I gave up 3/4 of the way.....I still think the thing was doable. Next time! | ||
