Cold but clear day with awesome views of Borah. Climbed the south face as part of the IdahoSummits fall outing. Had a blast. Here's a trip report and some photos.
A great friend gave me some sound advice to make the decision to turn around at about 10K. It was a great lesson in hydration and fueling the body for winter mountaineering. I will be back to get you another time Al West!
Despite a discouraging weather prediction, we camped at the dam in 15°, then climbed in sun all day. A lot of snow for October; over the knees in some drifts. Very windy on top. This was a long, tough day.
