Alberto Fortis

Padova- born naturalist and explorer with a special interest in geology In 1795 he was elected Fellow of the Royal Society in London. His extensive travels in Dalmatia and its karst between 1770 and 1774 resulted in the book for which he is best known. In 1777 he visited the Vilenica cave and left his signature there
