OverviewGrande Rousse 3607m is a remarkable summit placed along the watershed between Val di Rhêmes and Valgrisenche (Valle d'Aosta, Italy).
The sector of the ridge ascribable to Grande Rousse is not well defined; in the most restrictive hypothesys the limits are Col de Bassac-Derè 3082m (south) and Colle Finestra 2840m (north).
It is important to point out that Grande Rousse has not to be mistaken for Grande Aiguille Rousse 3482m, situated entirely in French territory, but in the vicinity of the borderline between France and Italy and not very far from Grande Rousse itself.
