Sand Dunes

Great Sand Dunes, the Crestones, and an approaching thunderstorm

No, this is not an album about femmes fatale and their hearts, but it might quickly rise to the top of SP album rankings if it were. Instead, this album is about the form and lighting found among sand dunes, which, after mountains and badlands, are my favorite geologic features to explore and photograph.

Please add your own shots in order to make this a fuller and better album, but please observe the following two guidelines:

Unless you think the shot is really good, please don't post shots that have footprints or people in them.
Photos should show intense colors, strong shadows, or detailed sand patterns (or any mix of the three, of course). Avoid bland midday shots that show little contrast and depth.
