Creating this album I would like to express my appreciation for achievements of Polish botanists in the documentation of mountain plants in the Tatras.

Photographs presented here were made in sepia at the begining of the XX century.

SUBALPINE PLANT ZONE
Coming up we can see as the first the grassy vegetation in valley and on lower slopes. This set of photographs presents mainly herbal plants from a zone named by botanists as subalpine.

 

 

 




TRUE ALPINE PLANT ZONE
This below section includes pictures of vegetation at the mountain level overgrown by Pinus montana.
