Overview

Glencoe is situated in Scotland and is easily accessed from any of its major cities. The A82 road passes straight through Glencoe and every time I'm driving up to the North of Scotland I always find the drive through as breathtaking as the very first time.

Glencoe is probably most famous for the massacre that took place in 1692 of which I have attached a link further down.

Glencoe has numerous peaks, some of which are already on Summitpost. These include; Buachille Etive Mor , Stob Coire nan Lochan , Bidean nam Bian , Aonach Eagach, Buachaille Etive Beag

Please feel free to add any pictures of Glencoe.

lcarreauSorry to hear there

Voted 10/10

was so much butchery going on in this area in the 1600s. I know
from my history books that it was very dark in the Dark Ages.
Do you get very much flooding along the length of River Coe??
Guess you would have to seek higher ground to avoid catastrophe.
These are very beautiful photos of the Glencoe area!! - Larry

Such was the way at that time Larry, turning on our own has been a problem in old Scottish history. The Glencoe massacre is a tragic event that will never be forgotten. I'm glad you like the pictures of the Glencoe area, it really is a fantastic area and to be honest the pictures don't truly reflect what the eye can see. You should pay Scotland a visit Larry and spend a day in Glencoe when here. You would love it. Take care over there in Arizona Larry
