Overview

Amicalola Falls is located in Amicalola Falls State Park in north Georgia. It is the highest waterfall east of the Mississippi River at 729 feet tall. Amicalola Falls State Park is also were the 8.8 mile Appalachian approach trail begins. On sunny summer weekends there are many people that come to see the waterfall so it can get a little crowded. Probably the best time to visit is in spring or during the week in summer.

BobSmithGreat place!

Voted 10/10

I went to high school just a few miles from there. North Georgia is where I began hiking and backpacking and peak bagging. I've never stopped.
