Overview

Tremont Mountain of Gilpin county Colorado resides wholly within Golden Gate Canyon State Park. There is a gnarly ridge that runs south from the summit and lies above 10,000' for the most part.

It is a very rugged ridge with minimum class 3 to class 5.5 and up climbing. There are numerous routes and you could spend days here scrambling, bouldering and climbing. It's truly a scramblers paradise! The rock is solid for the most part and the ridge is abundant with cliffs and extreme exposure abounds! Tread carefully!

I soloed this route on 8/11/07. The climbing was really fun and you can either push your limits soloing 5th class rock on the west faces, or scramble up 3rd & 4th class rock to the tops on the east faces. Rock climbing shoes are highly recommended in order to climb the 'fun' stuff!

you had such a great day! Wish I could have been there, but my husband doesn't let me climb with strange men.

I think you should consider making a whole mountain page for this fine peak. A great little summit, too. :)

Thanks, I probably will. I've got one planned for Thorodin too, but I'm a bit busy, or is it lazy(?), lately.
