Valley of HeavenLake of the Angels is a beautiful alpine gem in the southeast corner of Olympic National Park in Washington State. Situated strategically between Mount Skokomish and Mount Stone, Lake of the Angels provides access to many basins and alpine traverses. The Lake of the Angels is situated at the head of Whitehorse Creek in what is known as "The Valley of Heaven". Dozens of waterfalls rush from year around snowfields into the small, but crystal clear waters of Lake of the Angels. When viewed from the ridge above the lake beneath Mt Stone, the lake actually has an Angel shape. A herd of Mountain Goats often frequents the lake as well. This photo album is of pictures of the area in and around Lake of the Angels. Since getting to the lake requires some heavy duty hiking skills (at one point the elevation gain is close to 3,000 feet in two miles), not many people have visited this alpine paradise. I've had the privelage of hiking/scrambling here 7 times in the past three years and each time I'm blown away by the beauty of God's creation. It didn't just happen. There's a purpose to it all, and the purpose is for I and my fellow human beings to enjoy beauty on a grand scale. If you have been there, feel free to attach any of your own Lake of the Angels photos to this album.External LinksAdd External Links text here. Images
