Bryce Canyon, part of the great American West, is a wonderland of red and orange craggy rocks and pinnacles that are slender and tall in design. They are known as hoodoos and formed by a weathering process - starting out as a fin, then eroding into a window and then finally breaking down into a hoodoo. The area is not really a canyon at all, but instead is the top riser of the Grand Staircase and it appears as a huge amphitheatre, but actually, unlike the one at Cedar Breaks, it is several amphitheatres. The Staircase itself is a geological wonder and Bryce is only a small part of it. As you can see in these photographs, it is a magnificent and wildly different type of landscape than most have seen before. Bryce Canyon has several trails and although it's not a hiking mecca like nearby Zion National Park, it does have some fun places to get out and explore.

	Hasn't voted	I was and ran out of time. I had piles more photos to add when I found out I had to do the map thing and such and never got the others uploaded... so yeah... its a work in progress! :) I have LOTS of Bryce Canyon photos to add as time allows.

	Voted 10/10	The "gold-capped pinnacles" make my mouth fall open, and it's not because I'm hungry. :- ) Have you ever seen a raven in summer, while it's dancing around with its mouth open? Well, that is ME in BRYCE!
