The truly old stuff

Stuff that only you old-timers can remember. Canvas packs, hobnailed boots, wooden ice axes, and stuff like that. Anything over 30 years old should qualify, as so much can change over 3 decades. So please post or attach your old vintage mountaineering photos to this album.

Keep those "vintage" pictures coming! Be sure to explain in the caption the age and any history associated with it. However, only post pictures you took and of people you knew personally.

Cool idea. I hope you don't mind a few rock climbing shots from back in the day. Time to fire up the scanner - I've got some pics of Guyzo which will surprise even him!

in this SP album, feel free to attach any that you like. When I got stranded with a broken leg last year, playing with the scanner was among the best things left for me to do :)

Hint: search images for 1970, 1971, etc.
Like this 1961 shot or this one from 1962. Very vintage!....

Sierra Ledge RatWhat? Me? Vintage?

Voted 10/10

I've posted a few pcs, the 30-year cutoff doesn't seem so "vintage" to me... in another year a whole chunk of my climbing photos will meet the "vintage" criteria. Does that mean I'm getting old?

Well, one of the first images in this album is of me rapelling, and I so don't feel vintage, but then again, a lot of the SP membership was in diapers or not even around when the photos were taken....
