Rainier Photos

From May 24-27, we battled the elements for 4 bruising days on Washington's Mount Rainier(14,410') summiting via the Disappointment Cleaver Route.

Mount Rainier dominates the scene above a neighorhood during our drive from Seattle to Paradise

Myself in front of a cloud capped Rainier on the morning of Day 2 quite pleased that the previous day's storm has moved along!

Cathedral Gap and Little Tahoma Peak pop into view across Upper Cowlitz Glacier during a breather in the storm

Hood Photos

On May 29th and 30th, Jamie and I spent two sun-soaked, beautiful Oregon days scouting the Leuthold Couloir before summiting Mount Hood(11,239') via an unnamed chute, a 55 degree hard snow/ice climb.

Mount Hood greets us on a bluebird morning. Who knew taking this shot from the car would come out so well?

Me double roped and double axed heading into "The Chute"

Bright, sunshiny day. Summit(and crowds) just moments away

Jamie Nellis descends the slope below the Hogsback after we unroped. Dozens of ant like climbers are visible going up the Old Chute Variation and Pearly Gates routes. It's approximately 8:30am
