On December 10, 2007, my traveling partner Gareth and I were among the first group on the summit of Kilimanjaro.
With us were Nick from Georgia, Mark from South Africa, and our guides Jon and Jon.

I was surprised at how easy it had been after sufficient conditioning and altitude medication.
We had even carried our own gear along the Machame route all the way to high camp.
I felt as if I could keep going up further if there had been any further to go.

I have also included some other photographs taken near Kilimanjaro.
After our summit we traveled east to explore Amboni Cave for which I have created a separate SummitPost page.

I didn't seriously think about Kilimanjaro until looking at the photos here on Summit Post. Many Thanks!
