The idea of (a) "Carpathian Heritage" album(s) occurred to me while I was viewing visentin's pix of Vlkolínec - a UNESCO World Heritage site. I visited that place a few years ago, while my daughter Hanna and I were staying under canvas in Liptov at the foot of the Low Tatra Mts, from where we went hiking in all the mountain ranges surrounding the Liptov Basin. Visentin liked the idea and – swift as lightning – in a sec was ready with a huge album. He invited me to work on it though, so I – apart from attaching pix of quaint houses I remembered seeing on SP – decided to take the (French) bull (or rather Pyrenean Lightning, who has taken approx. 90% of the photos here ((Feb 28, 2009)), but this time was too slow to make a decision: see my comment at Carpathian Heritage: Wooden Houses) by the horns:-) and separate the churches from the houses, taking the weight of that knotty (hope you noticed this word here, thanks for your comment, Larry:)) wooden burden on my conscience. You are welcome to attach pix of churches on condition that:

1 the buildings stand in the Carpathians
2 the buildings are made of wood
3 the buildings were erected at least a hundred years ago
4 you will not feel offended if I detach your submissions (I'll try to make sure there are no more than five pix of the same structure, and no more than three on the front page:)

Thanks for reminding me. And I didn't actually realize there's the "related" option - thanks!

Romku,
Thanks! But I just sorted out mostly Eric's pix a little, and imposed some harsh rules autocratically. Please just have a look at the comments here :-) and here - there are TWO other albums in the series!
