The summit on Polish-Slovakian border

Mount Baranie (752 m) lies in the Low Beskid right on the Polish- Slovakian border. It is a two-hour hike to its summit from the nearby village of Olchowiec. The locals call this summit SPALENYSKO. The Slovaks call it STAVOK.
Mount Baranie’s north-eastern slopes are part of Polish Magura National Park. These slopes are covered with beautiful beech forests.
In 2006, a seventeen-meter high lookout tower was constructed by the Slovaks at the summit. One can stop on its three different levels and enjoy the view of the surrounding primeval forests. On a clear day it is possible to see the Tatra Mountains far in distance and the Bieszczady to the east.
Numerous streams flow down the slopes of Mount Baranie and eventually form the River Wisloka.
Four different hiking trails meet on top of Mount Baranie. They are Polish yellow and blue trails and Slovakian green and red trails.
