Change of plans

I was hikng up Mammoth Mountain's Dragon's Back trail Saturday morning, September 19 and it was nasty windy. I got about a mile up and met some people who just came from the top. They said the 25-30 mph wind was relentless all the way! I decided to forego the punishment and turned around to do something else.
After lunch in Mammoth Lakes I headed south to Little Lakes Valley for the afternoon. It was a good call.

Thanks TyeDye! Little Lakes Valley is one of the most beautiful and accessible places in the high Sierra and I've climbed most of the peaks around it which made the outing that much more enjoyable.
